Pakistan's Environmental Nightmare
In need of attention, problems with the environment worsened after the recent Afghan war, when an influx of Afghan refugees brought severe illness as one of the unintended consequences of the Afghan experiment. The good news is that Pakistani people have it in their hands to improve life. More of the poor can be fed if rivers are decontaminated and healthier fish are bred, many people can live healthier lives, and the historical monuments and parks can be maintained and beautified.
